Let us put our mind on leadership, and I will be talking of Spiritual leadership because it is the corner center of all development of any nations, when we study the history of any countries, you will arrived to see that actually what make that nation great it is all about the great leaders that they have, let me few of them, Abraham Lincoln, Churchill, Ghandi, Patrice E. Lumumba, Nelson Mandela, Thomas Sankara and many more, one of the fallacy that the media often portrays leaders as gifted, charismatic,physically imposing, attractive people. that is only in the movies and tv dramas as you will see this is not always the case. Napoleon Bonaparte, Joseph Stalin, Harry Truman were all short 5'5' tall, Abraham Lincoln had a very homely face and gangly physique, it is amazing really to notice that many of the famous leaders of our time and times past came from dysfunctional families and poor economic situations especially in Africa our leaders for our freedom were all poor and not great academic education either. there is also saying among the scholar of the Bible that Apostle Paul was ugly, short, and with bad eyesight. how true it is I do not know.
What is Spiritual Leadership it is a guide to understand God's design for spiritual leaders. the twenty first century is the most advanced age in the history, but effective biblical leadership has never been more need. Clear guidance is given on how leaders can make a positive impact on the people and organizations they are currently leading. I personally like most scholars believe that leaders are both born and made.
The leader's character, for some people, the greatest challenge is becoming the kind of person that others want to follow. Leaders without followers are not leaders; they are simply out for a stroll. the issue of influence is critical, especially in Christian leadership. In people's attempts to enlist a following, some have resorted to developing the appearance of a leader rather than developing the character of a leader.
Let us think about Position in Character of the leader; In many areas position has been generally associated with authority and influence. Pastors were automatically respected by virtue of their position. As a result, would be leaders pursued positions and offices of prominence in order to gain the respect they desired. each call to a larger, more prestigious church brought great dignity to the aspiring minister, this is what I call illegitimate source of influence, the flaws in this idea; People can achieve influential positions without developing a character to match their assignment. People who use political or unethical means to acquire positions lack the integrity they need to maintain the respect of those they lead. Both the secular and spiritual realms see countless men and women erroneously trying to satisfy their empty souls by amassing a following. The sad truth is that many Christian organizations and churches are led by people who sought an office for all the wrong reasons.
Let us think about Power in the character of the leader; History has thought us about Margaret Thatcher when she won a monumental third victory as prime minister of Great Britain during the 1980, she seemed an invincible political force. but members of her party chafed under a leader with such strong convictions. Ultimately her own party, not the opposition, forced her to resign. Once people chose not to follow, the most successful British leader of her era could no longer lead. Even the business world has realized that it cannot operate with a totalitarian mind set. There was a time when dominant business leaders such as Henry Ford could bully labor movements and make arrogant statements such as " Customers can have a car in any color they want, as long as it is black". this illegitimate source of influence are, the flaws in this idea are ; Christian leaders invite rebellion when they use force to achieve their organizational goals. Pastors have used numerous strong arm tactics to get their way. Some have violent tempers. They are charming and cordial as long as church members submit to their leadership. Spiritual dictatorship can be the most oppressive form of tyranny. Some Christian leaders believe that God delegates his authority to leaders and that followers are obligated to submit to them unquestioningly as if they were obeying God.
Let us think of Personality in the character of the leader; as every child learns, there is usually more than one way to get what you want. If it doesn't come automatically[ position] and if bullying [ power] doesn't work, you can always turn on the charm![ personality] the flaws idea in this illegitimate source of influence are ; People often follow leaders because of his charisma and winsome personality. The popularity of a leader is not in itself a bad thing, but it cannot be the only thing. Great leaders build great organizations, not necessarily great reputations. Pastors who function more on personality than on true leadership qualities rarely stay in one place for long. Personality without purpose and charm without competence are recipes for ruin.
The legitimate sources of influence is God's authentication calling and blessing from above, two great example in the Bible is the calling of Moses and Joshua, by that leaders do not have to prove God is guiding them. God's presence will be unmistakable. Leaders like Samuel, Deborah, Elijah and many more did not to prove themselves about God's presence their character just reveal God. Charles Finney said ;" When God is pleased with a leader's life, his divine presence is unmistakable"

Let us speak of the great achievement that one of African man just accomplished and to be precise they are two of them in that team of Chelsea, I am speaking of N'golo Kante and Edouard Mendy the champion of Europe the most coveted cup in the world of football, but I will only talk about N'golo Kante because he has been consistent and his rise to the world of football is been awesome.
This African son, as many before him show us that when you give an African son opportunity and proper environment, these African son are really excellent and their gifts and talent is second to none, in the past African son like, Roger Milla, Samuel Eto, Patrick Mboma, Kanu, JJ Okosha, Finindi George, George Weah, Kabongo Ngoie, Makelele, and Lucas Radebe the list goes on and on because this African son have show cast their talent all over the league of Europe with success that is above any one of their European and South American teammates.
The story of N'golo Kante is very peculiar, this guy rise in the stardom is amazing and it make everyone to pay attention to it, as African and born in Africa, from Mali without any financial support from his parent but having only the dream like most of African man, one day I will go to Europe and better my life, above all he have the gift and talent of football which is running inside his blood, it all started in France, what make him special, the man is small not a giant like most of the boys from Africa are, and he is playing in the position where according to expert you supposed to be giant and tall but N'golo Kante is not none of that, what is interesting Wenger when he was Arsenal manager refused to buy him because he was small, who know if this was the blessing which he needed, otherwise we were not going to see the magic that we are seeing right now.
In the year 2014, N'golo Kante make his debut as professional footballer at the club called Caen, one of the small club in France not all the glamour teams of France Ligue1, from day one, he did not let the opportunity past him and he got it with both hands. then in 2015 in reality this is just the following season, then he join Leicester City for 9 million which is modest consider how the transfer market is perceived, also let us say this the premier league in England it is the most competitive league in Europe and it is very physical, here we have N'golo Kante small in physic and a playing in the middle of the park, oh my word N'golo Kante conquer England with amazing display of skill which was above all and him and Leicester City teammates make the unthinkable by winning the premier league above teams like Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City this was in 2016, and this is his first major cup achievement , 2017 he join Chelsea one of the big club in England and Europe in the same season he won again the premier league, his second major honor in the club level, then come 2018 the world cup France manage to make him play for them, he became the world cup winner with France,in 2019 he became Europa league winner with Chelsea this is another major honor, then this year 2021 in champion league with Chelsea N'golo Kante was the great player above the rest, he destroy Madrid in the semi final alone and he handle Manchester City in the final again, as for the rest of his majors honor either with the club or national team, N'GOLO KANTE was and is the core of the team, it is like without him the engine will not work or start, in only six seasons the incredible N'GOLO KANTE made a clean sweep of all major club and country honors, now let me say at 11 of July of 2021, he will be European champion with France, this is an honor which so many players some of them the best in the world did not win these honors, I am seeing him being the ballon d'or of this year because there is no one like him this season.
To conclude the man is so humble and down to earth like nothing is happening to his life, for him cups is just a benefit that come after doing his work, then is like he say next let us go again. this make me to say this with a proper situation and environment Africa and African can change the world and make Africa a better place for all, before honor is humility, N'golo Kante smile and humility must i repeat it must teach us one things and how make our opportunity count.
Let Africa Arise again through is gifts and talent not only minerals.

The 25 of may is the Africa day, As an African man I have a thought for this beautiful continent it population endure a lot of hardship but they still standing tall, and they smile and sing their songs with a great big smiles on their faces.
Africa as a name was also given to this beautiful land by the outsiders who come here put the population of this beautiful continent under extreme conditions, let me start by saying before the whites man come into AFRICA, they were Kingdoms which have great civilization and great prosperity and also great people some of them did do great trips to Saud Arab of today for religious pelerinage and the man was the riches man on the earth at that times, Soudiata Keita the King Manden Empire, one of the great empire in Africa, the Monomotapa empire, the Luba and Kongo kingdoms in Congo, the Zulu Kingdom with the great Shaka Zulu, also the Timbuktu which was the high place of learning, my opinion will not contain all this name because the list is long of this great things that the African people did before the coming of the white man in Africa, the concept that is out there, Africa was without civilization before the coming of the white man is false, the fact is the old Egypt was rule by African that goes with all the pyramid and things found in Egypt was made by African and to be precise blacks African, and this was a prosperous and more civilize Africa ever, than what they are trying to sale to us by the narration of the oppressor, African saying goes like this the day a lion will tell us his story we will stop believing the hunters story. and that times is now that African must tell their own story to the world.
In 1996 then the president of South Africa, president Thabo Mbeki give a speech[ I will advice you the google it] that speech was I AM AN AFRICAN, at the end of the speech He said today I am proud to be African, that speech change my perception of Africa that I am living in, because the difficulty of Africa make me to be blind of how beautiful Africa is, the Africa land is so beautiful with forest, rivers, desert, animals oh we have Lions, Elephant, Okapi in Congo, Rhinos, Leopards and many kind of snakes, the list is long, our land beneath got all kind of minerals Gold, Diamond, Copper, Coltan, platinum, Oil and many more even we have not yet discover that is how rich Africa is all about,on top of it all it is young continent with a great number of younger population in the world that is the potential which make us to be different and it will make us rise easily.
But beside all this great things that the almighty God has shower Africa with, we still having huge problem, when you watch the news of Africa it always about wars, sickness natural disaster, political fighting which I do not want to lie it is depressing by watching those kind of the news, also let say there is also great story to tell of how the modern Africa is changing, there is also African children who are contributing in the world development, in the science, economy, even in sport and music for decade modern African are the pioneer in this domain, in some of the cases they are doing it outside of their mother land because the condition is favorable but after they are still African, all is not lost but we still have a long way to go to make Africa rise again.
We need to reflect on this after going through the slavery and still standing tall, colonization and still standing tall, apartheid still standing tall, segregation and racism still standing tall and seeing how our brothers and sister young as they are dying at the sea by trying to cross to Europe for better life, it break my heart and say we still have a lot to do to make this paradise continent paradise again not only in the spirit but with see it in our life time, built a better Africa for all African.
